Faceworks is based in Aylesbury, a pretty market town set in an area of outstanding natural beauty in Buckinghamshire, England.

Faceworks is supervised by Elaine Bartlett, a therapist with over fourteen years’ experience in natural health. Elaine is a qualified Reiki Master and Kinesiologist and developed Faceworks because, she says: “So many clients asked if I could make them look as good as they felt after a treatment, it was a natural progression”. Appearance is fundamental to self-esteem and confidence,  and Elaine realised it was vital to give control to the clients themselves:  “It is empowering to do something for yourself: teaching Faceworks to clients, so they went away with the skill to do it for themselves was almost as important as the actual exercises.”

Using her expertise in anatomy and physiology, Elaine began research into the changes in the anatomy of the face brought about by the ageing process. The exercises that make up Faceworks are the result of two years’ scientific study and work, including a client trial.

Elaine’s interest in natural health arose due to the necessity to rebuild her own health during the 1990’s. Under the guidance of renowned herbalist Kitty Campion, Elaine experienced first-hand the body’s ability to heal. She is proficient in the protocols of cleansing and healing naturally, and has a profound understanding of the link between emotion and illness. Several therapists asked her to train with them, but it was Kinesiology that proved to be the catalyst to a new career. She qualified in Reiki in 1998, and as a Kinesiologist in 2000. Research for the Faceworks exercises began in 2006, and the first website went live in 2008.

Elaine has recently stopped seeing clients in order to concentrate on providing an online service through Faceworks. She still researches and studies natural health and ant-ageing methods to keep abreast of the latest developments.

Faceworks is approved by the Complementary Therapists’ Association.

Qualifications

Elaine holds the following qualifications:

• Usui Reiki I, II, Usui Reiki Master.
• Diploma in Anatomy and Physiology: ITEC (Accredited by the UK Government)
• Foundation Course: Association of Systematic Kinesiology (ASK)
• Advanced Course in Systematic Kinesiology: John Logue College of Professional Kinesiology
• ASK accredited Nutrition Certificate
