How it Works: Natural Approach

Woman on bicycleThere will always be risks associated with cosmetic surgery. The natural approach is to use the body’s own innate ability to counteract the signs of ageing. With a natural facelift, the shape of the face is subtly enhanced. As the tone of the muscle fibres improve, they become ‘tighter’. Toned muscles support the features, lifting the skin from underneath naturally, without the need for fillers or chemicals.

The less invasive cosmetic procedures like Botox and fillers enable people to improve how they look almost instantly, and it is no wonder they are so popular.  But less invasive does not necessarily mean safer, and currently there is no regulation for injectible procedures.  A recent survey of the British Association of Plastic Surgeons revealed that one in four of their members had seen patients requiring surgery to correct permanent filler complications, mainly due to unqualified practitioners administering them incorrectly.

Faceworks is a registered therapy with the Complementary Therapists’ Association: a leading professional organisation representing complementary therapists in the UK and Ireland. All complementary therapies assist the body to increase in vitality, and they are much more than a relaxing break in your day.

Before medicine became the advanced modality it is today, people used remedies for illness that had been passed own over generations. Nutrition, natural herbs and cleansing routines were used to strengthen and return the body to full health. Illness was seen differently: as a sign the body needed rest and attention, not the ‘quick fix’ method we have come to expect from our doctors today.

A naturopathic practitioner treats at the body as a whole, with the view that the cause of the symptoms must be treated so the body can rest, enabling healing to take place. Usually cleansing is the first step, accompanied by therapies to help the body heal from both acute and long term ailments. The next time you go for a massage or a reflexology treatment, ask your therapist how your treatment helps your health. You might be surprised how detailed the answer is!
